Caller One

Caller One made Dubai World Cup history in 2002 by retaining his crown in the 2002 Dubai Golden Shaheen.

By Phone Trick out of Baltic Sea (by Danzig), the attractive chestnut gelding won the 2001 Dubai Golden Shaheen by four and a half lengths over Mens Exclusive and Bertolini, who had been second to Big Jag the previous year. He was ridden by Corey Nakatani.

Caller One then went on to finish third in the Breeders Cup Sprint.

In 2002 he returned to Nad Al Sheba to defend his Golden Shaheen crown. This time he was ridden by Gary Stevens. In a much closer race Caller One prevailed by a head over fellow American Echo Eddie with Xtra Heat in third. American horses filled the first six places.

Unfortunately Caller One did not return to Dubai in 2003.
