Singapore Guineas 2010 - Hyperion's pre-race article

“Hyperion” (Robert Bishop) is in Singapore for tonight’s Singapore Guineas and also for the two big races on Sunday, the Singapore Airlines International Cup (Group 1 over 2,000 metres) and the KrisFlyer International Sprint (Group 1 over 1,200 metres);

In the Singapore Guineas (Group 1 over 1,600 metres), Hyperion expects Better Than Ever to be a comfortable winner.

“Better Than Ever is very difficult to oppose. He has won all eight of his previous races and is currently rated 33 points, that’s 16.5 kilos, above his nearest rival and likely second Always Certain”.

“It would be a massive surprise if he was overturned”, added Hyperion, who favours one of the mudlarks Zac Missile or Alacarte for the Trifecta.

Hyperion also likes the chances of former Kiwi horse Surprise Surprise in the first race.

Hyperion’s and Carbine’s predictions for the Singapore Airlines International Cup and the KrisFlyer International Sprint will be posted on Saturday following final trackwork and an update on the weather.
