Phelan Ready

Phelan Ready set several key records when winning the 2009 AAMI Golden Slipper by two and a quarter lengths from Headway, Manhattan Rain and favourite Real Saga. He started at $26.00.

Phelan Ready became only the second horse to win the Magic Millions - Golden Slipper double following Dance Hero in 2004 and only the second Queensland trained winner of the Golden Slipper following Calaway Gal in 2002.

Phelan Ready was trained by father and son team of Bruce and Jason McLachlan, who became the first training partnership to win the race. He was ridden by Brad Rawiller.

Phelan Ready will now bid for the juvenile Triple Crown comprising the Slipper, AJC Sires and Champagne Stakes.
