Melbourne and Caulfield Cups - most starts

Doriemus ran in four Melbourne Cups (1995-98) and three Caulfield Cups (1995-97), winning one of each Cup.

Freemason ran in both Cups from 2000-2002.

Grey Song matched Freemason`s three-and-three record.

Skybeau ran in five Melbourne Cups (1996-2000) and in two Caulfield Cups (1996-97).

Ming Dynasty won two of his four Caulfield Cup starts (1977 and 1980) and ran in two Melbourne Cups.

Shadow King ran in six Melbourne Cups, for two seconds, two thirds, a fourth and a sixth between 1929-35. He did not run in the 1934 Cup, but his finale was the fourth place - as a 10-year-old when he started at 100-1. He was unplaced in the 1930 and 1931 Caulfield Cups.
