Good Ba Ba

Good Ba Ba, a four-time Group One winner in the season, was crowned Hong Kong Horse of the Year 2008, as well as the Champion Miler and Most Popular Horse of the Year at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards presentation ceremony on 1 July 2008 at the final Sha Tin race meeting of 2007/08.

Good Ba Ba added the Champions Mile to victory in the 2007 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile to become the only local horse ever to win two Group 1 international races on home turf in the same Hong Kong season.

He also won the Group 1 Citi Stewards' Cup and the Group 1 Queen Silver Jubilee Cup.

Good Ba Ba won his second Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile as a six year old when winning the race again in 2008.

Good Ba Ba smashed the track record by almost half a second to claim his fifth Group One race win in 12 months and his third at the International Group One level. The winning time of 1:32.71 was a Sha Tin track record.

The Andreas Schutz-trained gelding was ridden for the first time by Christophe Soumillon.

Able One was second by two and a half lengths with Egyptian Ra in third. Armada started favourite but finished sixth and other runners included Natagora and the 2007 Breeders' Cup Mile winner Kip Deville who finished ninth of the 14 runners.
