Claire Balding OBE

The super Claire Balding has an OBE in the 2013 June Queen''s Birthday awards.

Claire was recognised for her major work outside racing in summer 2012, playing a major part in the BBC's coverage of the Olympics in London and after the London Paralympics.

The former presenter of the BBC''s racing coverage, Balding switched to become the lead presenter for Channel 4''s racing programmes at the start of this year after Channel 4 signed up for the entirety of Racing's terrestrial coverage.

The 42 year-old is from a family steeped in racing history with her father Ian Balding best known for his handling of the legendary 1971 Derby hero Mill Reef and Derby runner up Glint of Gold.

Claire's uncle, Toby Balding, is one of the few men to have trained the winner of the Grand National, the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle
