Aidan OBrien

Aidan O''Brien, born on 16 October 1969, scored his first winner on his first day as a trainer in 1993, at time when was also a champion amateur rider.

He has dominated Irish racing since as multiple champion jumps trainer - Istabraq won three Champion Hurdles - and has exerted even greater dominance on the Flat sphere, on which he now focuses exclusively.

Backed by the Coolmore bloodstock empire, he has trained well over 100 Group 1 winners, including Classic winners Galileo, Giant''s Causeway, Rock Of Gibraltar and High Chaparral.

He set a new record for Group 1 winners in a year (23) in 2001.
