The Duke

The Duke won the 2006 Hong Kong Mile at 14-1.

The Duke was ridden by Olivier Doleuze.

This was the third run in the Hong Kong Mile for The Duke. He finished third in 2004 and second in 2005.

Trained by Caspar Fownes, The Duke was always travelling well at the head of affairs and held on to beat the fast finishing Douglas Whyte ridden 6-5 favorite Armada. The Duke won by a head. 16-1 Ramonti was third.

The race time was 1:33.40, just 1/10 of a second slower than Sha Tin's 23-year-old track record for the distance.
