Lizards Desire

The 2010 Group One Singapore Airlines International Cup over 2000 metres was won by Lizard’s Desire, who avenged his narrow defeat in the 2010 Dubai World Cup by Gloria De Campeao from Brazil.

Gloria De Campeao was attempting to retain his Singapore crown following his win in the 2009 Singapore Airlines International Cup.

Lizard’s Desire seemed to relish the soft conditions and fast pace set by Jolie’s Shinju.

Lizard’s Desire was ridden by Kevin Shea and trained by Mike de Kock.

Al Shemali was third and Waikato fourth.

Presvis, second behind Gloria De Campeao in 2009, disappointed to finish fifth but did not like the going and lost a shoe.

Brazilian jockey Bruno Reis was having his first ride on Gloria De Campeao as well as being a new to Kranji. Given the narrow margin, perhaps with regular jockey Tiago Pereira aboard the result may have been different?

The full result of the 2010 Singapore Airlines International Cup Group One 2000 metres was:

1st Lizard’s Desire - Kevin Shea - Mike De Kock
2nd Gloria De Campeao - Bruno Reis - P Bary
3rd Al Shemali - Royston French - A Al Raihe
4th Waikato - J Moreira - Laurie Laxon
