Dubai Sheema Classic 2007

Hong Kong star Vengeance of Rain won the 2007 Dubai Sheema Classic.

English Derby winner Sir Percy was sent off as 4-1 favourite in a competitive field with Japanese star Pop Rock and Breeders Cup Turf winner Red Rocks both on 9-2.

Godolphin’s Best Alibi took the early lead from Quijano and Vengeance of Rain on the rail. The pace was modest. Sir Percy started to make his move at the turn followed by Vengeance of Rain, who pulled away to win by 1 1/4 lengths over quick finishing 33-1 Oracle West.

Youmzain finished well to deprive Sir Percy of third.
